Terms & Conditions
The following Terms and Conditions apply to all tours associated with Opulent Quilt Journeys and takes precedence over all previous information printed or digital. Deadlines and important dates are provided on your booking agreement and invoices.
Tour Operator: Ju Yang Tours LLC, doing business as Opulent Quilt Journeys (“Opulent Quilt Journeys,” “we,” or “us”).
These Terms & Conditions are important. Please read them carefully, as they form the basis of your agreement with us when you book a tour. By making a booking or submitting payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
1. Deposits
A deposit is required to confirm your place on a tour. Deposit amounts vary by itinerary and are listed on each tour page.
All deposits are non-refundable.
Please ensure your reservation is made under the full name that appears on your passport.
2. Tour Prices
- Prices are listed in US Dollars and based on twin-share accommodation unless otherwise noted.
- Prices are set using the exchange rates and operating costs at the time of publication. These may change due to currency shifts, fuel increases, or other factors outside our control.
- Each tour requires a minimum number of participants to operate. If fewer than the minimum register, we reserve the right to adjust the price to allow the tour to continue with a smaller group.
If a price adjustment becomes necessary before departure, we will notify you promptly. You may accept the revised price or withdraw from the tour and receive a full refund of all payments made, minus a small administration fee.
3. Final Payment
Final payment is due 75 days before departure unless otherwise indicated.
If final payment is not received by the due date, your booking may be cancelled and any payments made may be forfeited.
4. Changes Made by Us
Our tours are thoughtfully crafted, but real-world conditions may occasionally require adjustments.
By booking with us, you acknowledge that itinerary changes may occur due to local conditions, supplier availability, or factors beyond our control.
Changes may include adjustments to:
- Flights or transportation
- Hotels or accommodations
- Daily schedules or included activities
- Other tour arrangements
When changes are necessary, we aim to provide an equivalent or better alternative whenever possible. These substitutions do not qualify for compensation.
If an included service becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control (see Force Majeure), and no comparable alternative is available, we will offer the best substitute we can and refund any cost difference.
Our goal is always to maintain the integrity and enjoyment of your journey.
5. Force Majeure
“Force Majeure” refers to events that neither we nor our suppliers can reasonably foresee or prevent, even with the greatest care. Examples include:
- Epidemics, pandemics, or health emergencies
- Natural disasters or extreme weather
- Airline cancellations or schedule changes
- Technical or operational transportation issues
- State Department travel advisories
- Terrorist activity
- War or political instability
- Riots or civil unrest
- Strikes or industrial disputes
If a Force Majeure event affects your tour, we will communicate with you promptly and make every reasonable effort to assist. However, Opulent Quilt Journeys is not responsible for additional costs or losses that result from these circumstances.
6. Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is one of the most important protections you can have when traveling. We strongly recommend purchasing a comprehensive policy that includes:
- Trip cancellation and interruption
- Coverage equal to or greater than the full value of your trip
- Protection for acts of terrorism
- Political evacuation coverage (optional)
- “Cancel For Any Reason” or pre-existing condition waivers (typically available only within 10–14 days of your first payment)
You are encouraged to do your own research according to your individual needs and reach out to a travel agent or a travel insurance company's customer service for support if you need assistance selecting the right plan for you. If you choose not to purchase comprehensive coverage, you agree to personally assume all financial responsibility for any expenses or losses you may incur.
Required Coverage
Emergency medical coverage and medical evacuation insurance with 24/7 assistance are required for all participants.
Proof of this coverage must be provided no later than 30 days before departure.
Because emergency medical and evacuation coverage is so essential while traveling internationally, we do require proof of this specific coverage. If you are unable or prefer not to provide proof, we reserve the right to cancel your booking or, in select circumstances, offer a special waiver acknowledging that you are choosing to travel without this protection. We support individual choice, but we also want to ensure you understand the risks and will have access to appropriate care if needed.
We know some travelers hesitate to buy travel insurance because they “never get sick” or feel the odds are too low. We truly understand—many trips go off without a hitch. But we’ve also seen unexpected situations arise: a simple fall resulting in a fracture, sudden illness (like Covid or the flu), lost luggage en route, or a family emergency that prevents participation. These situations can mean missing part—or even most—of a tour, and costs can add up much faster than people expect. Insurance protects your investment in the journey you've been looking forward to and ensures support if the unexpected happens.
7. Safety & Security
Your safety is our priority, and we take a proactive approach to monitoring each destination.
Before Departure
- We monitor U.S. State Department travel advisories.
- If a Level 3 or Level 4 advisory is issued for your tour region prior to departure, we will cancel the tour and issue a full refund of all payments made.
During the Tour
- If advisories change mid-tour, we will support you with communication, logistics, and local coordination.
- Any costs related to evacuation, early departure, extended stays, or itinerary changes are the participant’s responsibility. (These situations are often covered by comprehensive travel insurance.)
What We Provide
- 24/7 access to our operations team
- Assistance with embassy communication
- A group text channel for timely updates
- Detailed emergency procedures (provided 30 days before departure)
What We Cannot Provide
- Coverage for emergency evacuation or extended-stay expenses
- Liability for events outside our control
- Guaranteed safety during unexpected political or civil events
We will make every reasonable effort to support you during the tour, but travelers are responsible for costs arising from unforeseen disruptions.
8. Cancellation by You
If you cancel your booking, the following cancellation fees apply:
- More than 75 days before departure: Deposit forfeited (may be credited to another tour departing within 12 months).
- 75–31 days before departure: 50% of the tour cost.
- 30 days or fewer before departure: 100% of the tour cost.
Airline cancellation fees vary according to fare rules and are determined by the airline.
If your insurance covers your reason for cancellation, you must file your claim directly with your insurer.
9. Cancellation by Us
We may cancel a tour for any reason, including an insufficient number of participants. Except in cases of Force Majeure or nonpayment, we will make this decision no later than 75 days before departure.
If we cancel:
- You will receive a full refund or credit for all payments made.
- Refunds for tour costs are the full extent of our liability.
- We are not responsible for airline cancellation fees; refundable/flexible airfare or insurance coverage is recommended.
10. Credits & Refunds
We will always attempt to provide cash refunds whenever possible. Depending on circumstances, refunds may instead take the form of:
- A credit toward any future Opulent Quilt Journeys tour, or
- A transfer to a comparable tour at a later date
11. Unused Tour Services
Tours are priced as a package. As such, no refunds can be provided for unused portions of the tour, including meals, entrance fees, accommodations, flights, transfers, early departures, or late arrivals.
12. Passports & Visas
Travelers are responsible for ensuring they hold the required travel documents, including:
- A valid passport (often valid for at least 6 months beyond travel dates)
- Any required visas
- Any import documents for medications or medical devices
We can guide you to the appropriate consulates for destination-specific requirements.
13. Responsibility & Liability
Opulent Quilt Journeys acts only as an agent for suppliers providing transportation, accommodations, and other services. These suppliers are independent contractors and not employees of Opulent Quilt Journeys.
We are not liable for:
- Injury, illness, or loss of life
- Property damage or loss
- Delays or disruptions
- Acts of God, weather, strikes, war, quarantines, or government regulations
- Actions or omissions of suppliers or third parties
- Additional expenses resulting from these events
Travelers are responsible for all medical expenses, emergency transportation, and costs arising from unforeseen circumstances. By joining a tour, you voluntarily accept these risks and responsibilities.
14. Group Size & Participant Conduct
We aim to maintain small, intimate tour groups with a maximum of 24 guests. In rare cases, 1–2 additional travelers may be accommodated for special reasons. This number does not include guides, drivers, or company staff.
We reserve the right to decline a booking or remove a participant from the tour if their physical/mental condition, behavior, or general conduct prevents the safe and enjoyable operation of the tour or negatively affects other travelers.
Any removal will be treated as an unused portion of the tour and is non-refundable. The traveler is responsible for all expenses required to return home, including any airline or supplier rebooking fees.
Roommates & Single Supplements
If you request a twin-share arrangement, we will make every effort to match you with a suitable roommate. However, roommates cannot be guaranteed. If a roommate cannot be found—or if your assigned roommate cancels—the single supplement will apply.
15. Photography, Video & Use of Images
All videos, photographs, and images used in our brochures, website, and other materials are protected and intended solely for personal use or study. Permission to sell, publish, or use these materials for personal profit (including online) is strictly prohibited.

16. Claims, Disputes & Arbitration
We always strive to resolve any concerns directly and promptly. If a disagreement or claim arises relating to your tour, these Terms & Conditions, or our services, we will work with you in good faith to find a resolution. If a mutually acceptable solution cannot be reached, you agree that the dispute will be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Arbitration will take place in Arizona, USA, and will be governed by Arizona law. By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions, both you and Opulent Quilt Journeys knowingly waive the right to a trial by jury in connection with any legal action arising from this agreement.
17. Acknowledgment
By submitting a booking application, you confirm that:
- You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions and all tour materials provided.
- You understand that these terms affect your legal rights.
- You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ju Yang Tours LLC (dba Opulent Quilt Journeys), its owners, officers, employees, agents, and contractors from liability related to your participation.
