Fitness to Participate

Most of our non-retreat tours require a moderate level of fitness and mobility.  To help guide you, we've outlined the most common fitness expectations to help you determine if you will be able to fully participate in our journeys. 

Each destination has unique attractions that may intensify or relax some of these guidelines, so if you have specific questions, please reach out to our office for more information.

  • Walk moderate distances (up to 3-4 miles over course of a day) while exploring cities, short transfers to attractions, and visiting museums, gardens, etc.
  • There may be extended periods of standing during some visits, particularly in guided tours.
  • Navigating stairs and uneven terrain are possible at some activities
  • Board/exit coaches, trains and other methods of transportation without assistance
  • Manage your own luggage without assistance
  • Use combined shower/bathtub facilities (walk-in showers cannot be guaranteed)
