Norwegian textile traditions also come to life with visits to cultural attractions, such as the Norsk Trikotasjemuseum (Knitting Museum of Norway), located in Bergen. Shopping opportunities include renowned retailers. At the duty-free Heimen Husfliden in Oslo, peruse the country’s largest selection of knitting and weaving yarns and needlework accessories.
The natural beauty of Norway is also very much a part of this tour. Enjoy a fjord cruise and a train ride aboard the Flåm Railway. Take in the picture-perfect mountain settings seen at every turn. Marvel at the centuries of history found at sites such as the Norsk Folkemuseum, which includes 160 buildings from throughout Norway spanning centuries.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Oslo - The fast-growing capital city of Norway is a wonderland of innovative architecture, museums, and neighborhoods, yet forest land and parks cover more than half its footprint. In Oslo you will find wonderful shopping and dining as well as urban farms and a wealth of green experiences.
  • Flåm - Small but impressive Flåm is a tourist destination beyond compare due to its natural beauty. It is a popular cruise harbor and is the terminus for the FlåmRailway. Attractions include the Flåm Railway Museum, fjord cruises and small farms.
  • Bergen - This charming city, Norway's second largest, has retained its small-town ambiance. It was once the Norwegian center for trade with Europe. Today, it has repurposed its picturesque Hanseatic wharf district into an area that houses a museum, shops, galleries, and restaurants.
