OVERVIEW

Map Birmingham Festival of Quilts and Textile Tour with the Quilter on Fire

Join us for an extraordinary 13-day journey that weaves together Scotland's breathtaking landscapes, rich textile heritage, and vibrant creative community. You'll explore Edinburgh's historic streets, venture into the dramatic Highlands, experience Glasgow's artistic energy, and enjoy three full days of VIP access at the renowned Birmingham Quilt Festival.

What makes this tour special is the depth of connection you'll experience. You'll spend a full day with Jo Avery, a celebrated local quilter who helped create the Great Tapestry of Scotland, gaining insider knowledge and learning new techniques in an intimate workshop setting. You'll participate in hands-on experiences—from crafting your own handbag to exploring natural dyes, from watching working sheepdogs to cruising legendary Loch Ness. Between creative sessions, you'll discover Scotland's hidden treasures: contemporary tartan mills, historic distilleries, charming Highland villages, and the stunning scenery of the West Highland Railway.

This is Scotland at a meaningful pace—with plenty of time to create, connect with fellow fiber artists, and absorb the beauty and inspiration around you. From castle ramparts to creative studios, from lochs to looms, every day offers new discoveries and unforgettable moments that will enrich both your craft and your memories.
